The nine new senators will join incumbent Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, Manuel Villar, Antonio Trillanes IV, Francis Pangilinan, Loren Legarda, Panfilo Lacson, Gregorio Honasan, Francis Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano, Joker Arroyo and Edgardo Angara.
Comelec officials said the 13th placer will not be given the seat that was occupied by Sen. Benigno Aquino III, who is leading the count in the presidential race and appears set to be the country’s next president. Aquino’s Senate term ends in 2016.
