Escudero Urges Courtesy Resignation Among Arroyo Appointees

From Manila Bulletin

The so-called midnight appointments of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo are in for a rocky ride as opposition Senator Francis Chiz Escudero urged all appointees to offer their courtesy resignations to the incoming Aquino administration.

Escudero made the appeal following a statement by President-apparent

Senator Benigno Simeon Noynoy Aquino III that he is now reviewing the controversial midnight appointments made by President Arroyo. President Arroyo's term ends at noon of June 30.

Escudero, chairman of the Senate ways and means committee, said that “delicadeza dictates nothing less from these people who were given posts and tenures outside of what the Constitution provides.
